Hussein was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
He finished high school in Medicine Hat and started his post-secondary education at the Medicine Hat College. After one year of general science, he transferred to the University of Calgary to study computer science. Two years of science led to an interest in medical science. He was accepted to the American University of Antigua: College of Medicine and went to Antigua, West Indies. First, he completed the pre-medical and basic science portion of medical school and earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Health Sciences. To complete the clinical clerkship portion of medical school, he went to the United States and rotated through various hospitals in New York, California and Georgia, completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination and graduated with the degree Doctor of Medicine Cum Laude in June 2015.
Currently, Hussein is looking for a PGY-1 residency position in the United States. While he applies for residency, Hussein remains clinically active at a prominent gastroenterology and internal medicine practice in Brooklyn.
